What is the difference between a mobile hotspot and a WiFi router?

A mobile hotspot is a very compact 3G wireless router with a range of about 33 Ft. It is intended to meet the needs of an individual user and when needed, can be shared with multiple devices, co-workers, family or friends. A mobile hotspot works without any wires because it is connected via 3G mobile connections. A WiFi router is comparatively not as compact or mobile, needs physical cords to provide WiFi and lends itself to more of a fixed solution with a wider range than a mobile hotspot. A mobile hotspot is specifically suited to being a small device perfect in mobile situations when you need to be connected away from home or office.
